This is an opening made into the drilling site for land samples, could this be another green space we stand to lose. This site has lots of young trees that would have to be moved to make way for any new development, this cannot be allowed to happen as it will change the landscape of the Holywood Road and move the tree line even further up the Holywood Road.
If this is another development site we will lose another Parkland that is close to the Sydenham by pass you can see by this picture what we may lose, we have to consider our wildlife and the animals that may be affected if this was to become another development site. We must demand answers from the planning services as to what is going on, once more the Palmerston Residents Association are having to fight for our green spaces and local history.
We see by this photo the bull rushes what would be affected, this site is a gem in East Belfast this habitat must not be destroyed in anyway. We look to our MLAs to act on this as soon as possible to protect this space before we see this habitat lost for ever. We ask the Ulster Unionist Party to seek information on what is happening to this Parkland situated on the opposite side of the road from their headquarters on the Holywood Road, we look to the Unionist Party to lead the way on this matter and demand answers from our planning service and join our campaign to save the trees on this site for the future of our children.
The Palmerston Residents Association are fighting a battle on all fronts to save the environment we live in, and to save our green spaces and trees. Terry Hoey asks the Northern Ireland Green Party what they are doing to save our green spaces, the need to have green spaces is vital to save our way of life and to help green house gases. We cannot let this site be changed as it shields the Knocknagoney area from the Sydenham by pass.We must stop the greying of our habitats.
