This is the house that will be most affected if Planning gets the go ahead, are the planners, councillors and MLAs completely mad. Denorrton Park is only a small area to build apartments in, it would cause the residents a major planning nightmare with more cars and more bin collections in the area, how do they think people will be able to cope with the amount of extra traffic it will bring to Denorrton Park.
How can this be allowed to once again happen to our area in east Belfast, the White house pictured above is up for planning approval, it is to be demolished and a road put in its place, this is so a developer can build apartments how ridiculous is this, as you can see from our photographs if this gets approval it will go through the middle of the two end houses. Denorrton Park sits on the banks of Bunker Hill on the Holywood Road it is a very quiet park with very many different types of houses, you can see by the photograph just how planners can make mistakes and be driven by sheer profit, they obliterate the area with no thought for the residents who live there, after the developers have gone leaving a trail of destruction behind them .
This Photograph shows the corner that will be affected, it begs the question what are the planners thinking of, do they ever leave their office to inspect the area, do they ever look at the type of housing that surrounds the planned site, do they ever take into account the views of the residents who have lived in the houses that will be affected,The Palmerston Residents Association ask our Councillors and MLAs to back the residents of Denorrton Park and would remind them of the oncoming elections that will be taking place,we as residents are fed up to the back teeth with the planning service and out dated laws that they work to, we are also sick and tired of of having to fight tooth and nail for our areas against an ever growing onslaught from money grabbing developers. We ask our Politicians to stop hiding behind out dated laws and do what they were elected for fighting for the rights of the people and the residents of our area.
We ask you the politicians to think again and stand by the people who elected you, ask yourselves one question would I like this to happen on my front door,we are sure the resounding answer would be not a chance, but that works two ways we elect people to power to stand up for our rights and make sure that we have the right to live where we want, also the right to live in a peaceful society, yet if the proposed plans go ahead people will have lost the choice to live in an area where they have lived all their lives and will lose the peace and quiet they have lived in for many years. This is a major issue for Denorrton Park as they are also facing more developments at the other corner of the park.
The Residents Association want our Councillors and MLAs to know this is not going to go away, we intend to fight this development as we see it as not a green development, if it gets the go ahead it will not only affect Denorrton Park but everyone who lives on the Palmerston Road, Larkfield Park,Victoria Road,Palmerston Park,we say enough is enough and not a step further watch this space as its not going away
